In the beginning... Su Casa was started in 2008 by graduate students in the Global Social Sustainable Enterprise program at Colorado State University. The program, founded on the basis that business can and should be a force for positive change, as well as an effective tool in addressing the worlds economic, social and environmental problems. Doing well, doing good...the elusive "triple bottom line".
Entrepreneurial opportunity converges with social and environmental impact in the building industry like it does in no other...particularly in the homebuilding industry. The possibility of making money, improving the living conditions of millions of impoverished people as well as reducing the negative impact of the built environment excites us...it motivates us.
This blog is a place to give Su Casa updates, highlight industry best practices and discuss the issues at the intersection of green building, social housing initiatives, business and the Base of the Economic Pyramid.
